3.2 quake shakes N.E. Alabama due west of Rome, Cartersville: You might have felt the Earth move just after 10 a.m. EDT Thursday. An earthquake with a 3.2 magnitude shook Northeast Alabama. 10% increase in home sales in Greater Rome

 

-Local Realtors got another shot of good news: Home sales in Greater Rome hit 66 last month, up from 60 for the same month in 2009, or a 10 percent increase. Says Ruth Terry, president of the Greater Rome Board of Realtors: "We hope to see higher numbers for May!"

 

-Mortgage rates have stayed mostly on the low end in recent months and April saw some extra activity thanks to the tax breaks in place to help boost home sales.
