Boy Scout Luncheon to honor oustanding members of Bartow County

The Northwest Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America, held its 4th annual Cartersville Patron Lunch on Wednesday, March 6th at the Tellus Museum.

This year, the Boy Scouts honored two outstanding members of the Bartow community, Mr. Fred Harris and Mr. Herschel Wisebram, as Distinguished Citizens for their unselfish service and devotion to the citizens of Bartow County. Georgia State Senator Barry Loudermilk was the guest speaker at the event. Previous recipients of the Bartow Distinguished Citizen award include Mr. Jimmy Dellinger, Hon. Robert Benham, Dot Frasier and Commissioner Clarence Brown.

The Patron Lunch, an annual fundraising event, is hosted by a committee made up of over 25 local community leaders and was attended by more than 100 invitees, and raised over $30,000 of the $50,000 overall goal. "This lunch is a great opportunity to showcase local Scouting efforts and to recognize Bartow's finest", stated Anthia McStatts-Santini, chair of this year's event. "It is also a time of fellowship as we come together to support Scouting in Bartow County, which served over 1,000 Bartow youth and 400 adult volunteers last year."
