Holiday washout: Over 1.6 inches so far, up to 2 more possible

-Flash Flood Watch in effect until 8 a.m. Friday.
-Rainfall total: 1.62 inches since midnight Weds.at Cartersville airport

Outlook: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.  New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. More storms ahead tonight.

Weather forecast:
-Independence Day: 100% chance of heavy rain, high of 80, low of 71.
-Friday: 90% rain chance, high of 82, low of 70.
-Saturday: 60% rain chance, high of 82, low of 70.
-Sunday: 60% rain chance, high of 86, low of 70.
 
Independence Day event updates
-All Cartersville Fourth of July events canceled. Fireworks rescheduled for Labor Day.
-July 4: Cave Spring's Independence Day parade is on for 9 a.m., downtown square.
-A decision will be made by noon Thursday as to where the Rome Symphony Orchestra's concert will be held.The alternate location is the Rome City Auditorium for 8 p.m. concert.
-RFPRA will make a decision by 10 a.m. Thursday about Rome's Fourth of July fireworks celebration at Ridge Ferry Park.
-From Rome Braves:  If Thursday's game is postponed, the Braves plan to have postgame fireworks on Friday and Saturday.
