Lesser Known Jewels Tour Welcomes Public August 1

 

Media Release- When the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted a tour of local attractions in May, the public responded with a sell-out success.  Based on this overwhelming response, the CVB will host the Lesser Known Jewels of Bartow County Tour on Thursday, August 1.  The day-long tour departs the Clarence Brown Conference Center at 8:30 AM and returns to the center at 4:00 PM. 

 

"We hope to give residents an opportunity to see places never before seen, and to introduce them to the vast history depicted across the county," said CVB Deputy Director Regina Wheeler.  The inaugural tour provided positive feedback from participants and many suggestions were applied to the upcoming tour itinerary. 

 

The Lesser Known Jewels Tour will take participants inside the Allatoona Dam, across the Euharlee Covered Bridge, and back-to-school at Noble Hill-Wheeler Memorial Center.  In addition, guided tours of Bartow History Museum, Rose Lawn Museum, Euharlee History Museum, and Kingston Museum will be given. 

 

Lunch will be enjoyed at Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse in Euharlee – a three-time winner of the People's Choice Best Restaurant award presented by the CVB annually.  The tour is $20 per person and includes transportation, admission and lunch.  Guests will receive a gift bag, may win door prizes, and will be treated to a southern ice cream social before returning to the conference center.  Space is limited and reservations are requested by July 31, and may be charged by phone 770-387-1357; Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted.
