Healthy Bartow Historic 5K at Rose Lawn

Media Release: Immerse yourself in the history of Cartersville! On Saturday, September 14, 2013, the Community Health Network (CHN), Downtown Development Authority, Rose Lawn Museum, and Bartow History Museum launch their first annual Healthy Bartow Historic 5K at Rose Lawn.  This 5K begins at Rose Lawn Museum, a historic Victorian home that once housed the famous evangelistic minister, Sam P. Jones.  The course takes you through one of the historic residential districts in Cartersville, Georgia.

Proceeds from this 5K run/walk will benefit Downtown Cartersville's Historic Wellness Walk as part of the Healthy Bartow Initiative, Rose Lawn's Save the Carriage House campaign, and the overall operations of the Bartow History Museum.  Healthy Bartow is dedicated to the community-wide prevention of lifestyle related chronic illness.

This event will specifically launch Downtown Cartersville's Historic Wellness Walk, which will provide several walking routes through the historic district.  The goal of the project is to increase opportunities to be active while learning a little history along the way!
