Tech college mergers to go forward; new names pending: The state board of the Technical College System of Georgia on Thursday voted to reaffirm the system's plan to merge the administrations of 13 of the state's 33 state technical colleges.The 13 colleges will become six colleges on July 1, including pairing Coosa Valley Technical College and Northwestern Tech, and also North Metro Tech, Appalachian Tech and Chattahoochee Tech. Dr. Sanford Chandler will direct Appalachian, Chattahoochee and North Metro, and Dr. Craig McDaniel will oversee the Coosa Valley/Northwestern composite> Campus Headlines

>Health & Wellness Expo signup begins for returning vendors: The 2009 Health & Wellness Expo is Thursday, Feb. 26 at The Church at Liberty Square. This year's theme is "Take the Time in 2009." As a token of appreciation to returning vendors, all 2008 Health & Wellness Expo vendors may sign up early to retain the booth they had this year. The deadline to retain your 2008 booth is Monday, Dec. 29. Simply fill out the registration form and submit to the Chamber with payment. Click here for registration form. For new vendors: The booth sign up day will be Friday, Jan. 9 at 8 a.m. at the chamber of Commerce. You must sign up in person and payment must accompany registration.
