Bank of the Ozarks, successor to Unity National, reports second quarter net income of $10.9 million, up 14.6% from $9.5 million a year earlier. Details

-About buying Unity after it failed in March: "The company's net income and diluted earnings per common share for the first six months of 2010 included a first quarter gain, net of acquisition costs and applicable taxes, of $5.9 million, or $0.35 per diluted common share, from the March 26, 2010, acquisition of a Georgia bank pursuant to a purchase and assumption agreement with loss share agreements entered into with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp."

SPLASH Bartow makes a splash at Monday's  Rome Braves' game

About 100 members of SPLASH Bartow joined the crowd at State Mutual Stadium Monday night to watch the hometown Rome Braves take on the Charleston RiverDogs in the series finale.
