Dec. 30: The Singing Cookes & Caylor Family 12/30

Media release: It all started in 1962 when Hubert Cooke, a Virginia coal miner, left his job and started working for the Lord. Hubert combined his love of Bluegrass with his wife Jeanette's lifetime experience of playing guitar and singing in revivals to form The Cooke Duet. Through the year's they grew their own Gospel group, adding sons James on bass guitar and vocals, Ronny on keyboard, and Donny on drums to form The Singing Cookes. This dynamic and popular Gospel group will share 50 years of favorite hymns along with The Cooke Brothers and The Caylor Family on Friday, December 30, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville.

The Cookes will be joined by longtime friends The Caylor Family from Mineral Bluff, Georgia.  Indeed, friendship is what put this concert together says organizer Keith Fountain.  He along with a group of friends have been following The Cooke Family for decades.  These friends pooled their resources to make this event happen in celebration of The Cookes 50th year in Gospel music.  Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the singers' ministry.  Tickets are $10 per person CASH ONLY at the door; or charge by phone in advance by calling Keith Fountain at 706-252-1048.

The Clarence Brown Conference Center is located at 5450 GA Hwy 20 in Cartersville, Georgia.  Call the venue at 770-606-5763.  Directions: I-75 Exit 290, go west on GA 20 approximately 1.5 miles to Conference Center on left.
