Media release: Cartersville Council Member Lori Pruitt was recognized at the Georgia Municipal Association's (GMA) Annual Mayors' Day Conference in Atlanta on January 22 for participating in the annual Robert E. Knox Leadership Institute for Elected Officials.
The three-day Leadership Institute, also co-sponsored by GMA and the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government, featured several nationally recognized training development consultants and speakers. Participants also engaged in role-playing exercises designed to cultivate and enhance leadership skills.
"We commend Council Member Pruitt for attending this program," said GMA Executive Director Lamar Norton. "The Leadership Institute is an outstanding program and widely acknowledged as one of the best of its type in the country. We highly recommend it to any city official who wants to be a more effective community leader."
Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and consulting services to its 500 member cities.
