Miss Georgia USA and Teen crowned in Cartersville

Media release:  The 2013 Miss Georgia USA® and Miss Georgia Teen USA® were crowned Saturday night at Woodland Performing Arts Center in Cartersville.   Both ladies take on the challenge of becoming Georgia's hopeful in the 2013 Miss USA® and Miss Teen USA® pageants.
 
Miss Central Atlanta USA® Brittany Sharp accepted her new crown from the reigning Miss Georgia USA®, Jasmyn Wilkins.  Finalists for the Miss Georgia USA® crown were Miss North Marietta USA® Jamie Kelton, Miss Monticello USA® Tiana Griggs, Miss Southern Heartland USA® Keri Crosby and Miss Columbus USA® Cassie Lee.
 
Safisha Thembeka, Miss Midtown Atlanta USA was honored by her peers as Miss Congeniality.  Miss Calhoun USA® Valeria Perez was chosen as Miss Photogenic.  Receiving the People's Choice Award chosen by monetary votes benefitting Cartersville's Tranquility House was Miss Northwest Georgia USA® Brooke Dixon.
 
Miss Georgia USA® judges were Morten Andersen, the all-time leading scorer in NFL history as well as for the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints; Chester Ricks, model, actor and titleholder agent; Jennifer Prodgers Johnson, real estate agent and Miss Georgia USA 1992; Amy Colley Tyson, Miss Tennessee USA 2005 and registered nurse; and Gregg McCoy, Texas-based pageant producer.
 
Serving as Miss Georgia Teen USA® judges were Lee Baalman, a speech/language pathologist in Kansas City; Annette Navarro, global advertising photographer and music manager with The Artist Partnership; Brian Bremer, film and TV casting consultant with The People Store, the Southeast's largest talent agency; Amy Kirchen, owner of the AMY KIRCHEN Boutique, Cincinnati's premier women's wear designer; and Jai Harelson, marketing and advertising expert, and team consultant for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rid de Janeiro.
 
The 2013 Miss Georgia USA® and Miss Georgia Teen USA® will go on to represent Georgia in the Miss USA® and Miss Teen USA® Pageants, productions of the Miss Universe® Organization and co-owned by NBC and Donald Trump.    The Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi pageants are produced by Kimberly Payne Greenwood of Greenwood Productions.  Mrs. Greenwood is a former Miss Tennessee USA® and the wife of entertainer and Grammy award winner, Lee Greenwood.
