) The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation recently added five new members to its board of trustees bringing the total number of members to 17.
New trustees include:
· Jason Anavitarte – Anavitarte is a senior government and community relations leader with Kaiser Permanente. A former member of the Doraville City Council and one of Georgia Trend Magazine's 40 Under 40 Leaders in Georgia in 2011, Anavitarte has served as a leader on issues such as regional economic development, public safety, community health and children and youth.
· Sloane Evans - Evans is the assistant to the vice president of human resources for Southern Company. An employee with the Southern Company since 2001, Evans has held several positions in human resources, specifically recruiting and talent acquisition.
· Mark Goodman – Goodman is the customer service manager at Gas South LLC where he is responsible for developing and managing effective coalitions across functional boundaries on the Business and Government Market Team. With more than 33 years of sales, sales management, marketing, business development and operations experience, Goodman has worked for Ernst & Young Consulting, Digital Equipment Corporation and Georgia-Pacific Corporation.
· Jean Hawkins – Hawkins is a partner in the accounting firm of Hawkins, Moore and Cubbedge LLC. A graduate of Jacksonville State, Hawkins' community experience includes past board chairman of the Cobb County Boys and Girls Club, past chair of the Kiwanis Club of Marietta Scholarship Committee, among others.
· Christopher Schmoeckel – Schmoeckel is currently the vice president for operations at Chart Industries in Ball Ground, having served in several positions with the company since 2000. He holds degrees from the University of Minnesota in mechanical engineering and management technology.
The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation advances the mission and vision of Chattahoochee Technical College through emergency and special request funds, merit based scholarships, and program support. The Foundation, which is a private, non-profit organization, receives support for this from individuals, businesses, corporations and other foundations. Members serve for one and three year terms with officers serving two year terms.
In other business at the board's December meeting, trustees voted to re-elect Melinda Ashcraft as chair, Don Barbour as vice chair, Susan Stephens as treasurer and Nan Mays as secretary.
