Loudermilk answers questions on Senate/Cagle power switch:

-Within days of the election, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle saw much of his power over the state Senate vanish. Said Loudermilk: "The amount of authority given to the lieutenant governor by previous Senate bodies was, in my opinion, across the constitutional line of separation." AJC: Bartow, Polk banks on latest 'Texas Ratio' list

-A report in Tuesday's Atlanta newspaper identifies 79 Georgia banks -- three more than last time -- with troubled loans vs. the bank's ability to cover them. A ranking above 100 means the loan value exceeds the bank's reserves.

Putting the 'local' in local news:

-More media players are looking for news -- and new ad dollars -- in communities long dominated by local owners, including Northwest Georgia.
