Sheriff's office: Acworth suspects charged in aggravated battery

(Media release) Bartow County Sheriff's investigators have arrested an Acworth pair for Aggravated Assault.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, on Saturday October 30, 2010, deputies responded to 3618 Cypress Way in Acworth in response to someone shooting a shotgun into a residence and leaving. Deputies found that two adults were inside the residence during the shooting and that one of them had been struck by flying glass when the shot struck a window. No serious injuries were reported.

Bartow County Sheriff's Office investigators discovered that the shot was
fired by Shane Kyle Phillips, 19, of Acworth and that he had been driven to
the location by Tonni Nichole Taylor, 19, also of Acworth. Investigators
believe that the owner of the residence and Phillips had been exchanging
fighting words for the past several weeks via text messages. After the
investigation, Phillips and Taylor turned themselves into the Bartow County
Jail.

Phillips is charged with Aggravated Assault and Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree, and Taylor is charged as a Party to The Crime of Aggravated Assault and Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree.

Both are currently being booked into the Bartow County Jail to await a bond hearing.
