-Marilyn's Antiques is now at 2B S. Wall St. (beside Trellis). Owner Marilyn Cason is open

Bartow Business Connection meets Jan. 19 at City Cellar & Loft: (Media release) The Bartow Business Connection meets Jan. 19 at the City Cellar and Loft in downtown Cartersville. The hours are from 4 until 7 p.m. This is a drop in meeting; you're welcome to stay three hours or five minutes; please bring cards and flyers. The connection is designed for Bartow business owners, their employees and county residents to join together to generate new business for themselves and to help keep businesses open and thrive. There is no charge to join, no dues to pay, nothing to buy, no salaries to support. This is a volunteer organization. The Bartow Business Connection urges you to attend other networking opportunities including:
-Bartow Business Association, third Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m., Barbecue Street.
-Northside Business Connection, Wednesdays, 8 a.m., IHOP.
-Adairsville Chamber, first Thursday 7:30 a.m. Adairsville Inn.
-Acworth Business Association, fourth Thursday, 11:30 a.m., Northstar Church
Saturday/Improv Night a the Legion Theatre, 7:30 p.m., $5 cover: The Pumphouse Players will host the first Improv Night of 2010 at the Legion Theatre on Saturday. Things will get started at 7:30PM and finish around 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for both participants and audience members. There is no pressure to participate but all are welcome. Light refreshments and beverages will be available and donations are greatly appreciated. Bear in mind that we strive to keep it PG-13, but audience discretion advised, especially for younger members. Participants in the improv games must be at least 16 years old> Pumphouse.

-SOHO closing at Riverbend in late March: The second shot at SOHO, the small/home office business, at Riverbend Center will close in late March. Franchise owner Tom McNally says the numbers were far better since he took over last April but the volume still can't justify the rent and other expenses. He plans to work with Tiger Flight, his other Rome venture. For Riverbend, it is the third closing announcement in recent weeks. Chico's is leaving as is the Hallmark shop, both near Kroger.
-Down South Country Cooking adds breakfast service: The popular family restaurant at 1818 Redmond Circle has added breakfast service between 7 and 10 each weekday morning. Biscuits sell for $1.35 to $2.25 and breakfast plates are $2.25 to $4,75. Down South opened soon after Backyard Barbecue moved to Armuchee Village--and subsequently closed a few months later.
