Media release: Cass High School's construction class students have stepped up and donated their time and talents to helping the children in their community. Having hand-crafted a custom playhouse, they have generously donated their fine work to the Advocates for Children's Spring Benefit auction.
"Teaching involves more education of honesty, integrity and perseverance than most would think. Allowing these students to be involved in such a project as this will help them to realize we all need support and a helping hand," said Arthur Jerome Black of Cass High Construction.
Cass High School construction consists of 100-140 talented and award winning students all working toward building leadership and experience in preparation for the next generation of skilled craftsmen. Students complete three classes ranging from Occupational Safety to Carpentry 1, where they are educated on the categories of construction and receive hands-on building experience.
"It is so important for young people to realize the value in giving of their own time to help others in their community. The construction students at Cass High School eagerly volunteered to build a custom playhouse to auction off at our event, and by the looks of the playhouse, it is sure to be one of our highest grossing live auction items," Says Regina Shaw, Advocates for Children's Spring Benefit co-chair.
Cass High School's playhouse will be used in the live auction during Advocates for Children's Spring Benefit, March 19. Advocates is a non-profit organization located in Cartersville, Georgia dedicated to serving abused and neglected children in the North Georgia area. Proceeds from the event will benefit Advocates many programs and services including their children's shelter, Flowering Branch.
