-March 12: DOT meeting tonight focuses on U.S. 411/Bartow rights of way purchases

Google Map includes the 11.2 miles under consideration, from the Floyd-Bartow line to U.S. 41

A public hearing open house to discuss the Georgia DOT's proposed plans for the purchase of access rights along U.S. 411/Ga. 20 in Bartow County is scheduled for Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. The hearing will be held at the conference room of the Georgia DOT District Six office at 500 Joe Frank Harris Parkway. The proposed plans call for DOT's purchase of access rights from 96 parcels along U.S. 411/Ga. 20 beginning at the Floyd County line and extending to U.S.41 north of Cartersville. Two additional parcels would lose all access as a result of the proposed project and would be purchased outright by the department.  The total length: 11.2 miles.    For more on DOT, click www.dot.ga.gov
