Crime Prevention Week Oct. 18-24

City of Cartersville Crime Prevention Week

In an effort to better educate the community about crime prevention, Mayor Matt Santini has declared October 18-24, 2010 as Crime Prevention Week (photo attached of proclamation signing and the proclamation).  This week is a joint effort between the community and law enforcement.  The Police Department knows how important it is that residents of Cartersville remain alert and responsive when crime is taking place.  Therefore, the SCAN (Stop Crime Activity Now) program has been implemented which challenges citizens to continually be aware of what is happening around them and report anything suspicious.  By simply calling 911, the initiative has been taken to make our community a safer place. As part of Crime Prevention Week, the Police Department is holding a Crime Prevention Event on Saturday, October 23rd from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Cartersville Police Department located at 178 West Main Street.  Bring your family and friends to receive literature, see police equipment on display and participate in a simulated DUI driving experience.
