-And you thought your election year went on forever: With Tuesday's general election runoff now history, even some of the region's most dedicated voters are breathing a sigh of relief. It was a busy campaign year for sure--but think about the elections office in Gordon County. Some voters there were asked to go the polls six times this year vs. four times in most other counties. In addition to the July 20 primary, Aug. 10 runoff, Nov. 2 general election and Tuesday's runoff, some Gordon voters took part in a May 11 special election to help select a new congressman and a state House member--and voted again on June 8 to pick the final winner of those two seats. Whew.
