Sept. 15: The 12th Annual Beautiful Backroads Century cycling event set for Anheuser-Busch brewery in Cartersville

Media release: The 12th annual Beautiful Backroads Century (BBC) Bicycle Ride is September 15 at 8 a.m. The ride starts and ends at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Cartersville.

Riders can choose to complete 14, 31, 48, 66 or 100 miles on quiet roads through Bartow and Gordon counties. Rest stops and SAG support are provided for all mileage options. Following the ride, participants are treated to a delicious feast, entertainment and a beer sampling for those 21 and older.

BBC was started in 2001 by several brewery employees. The first event had 166 riders. By 2007, it was the largest single day ride in metro Atlanta. Today, it is one of Georgia's most popular bike rides, attracting over 1400 riders.

BBC benefits multiple charities and is the largest fundraiser for Hickory Log Vocational School, a non-profit organization in White, Ga., that provides a caring, loving home for mentally challenged men and creates a family for its residents.

Registration is $30 until Sept. 1 and $40 thereafter. For more information, visit www.bikebbc.com or call 706-296-7103.
