Daiki employee tornado relief fund started at NorthSide Bank

Media release:  NorthSide Bank and Cedar Creek Baptist Church have joined together to create a Daiki Employee Tornado Relief Fund to help our neighbors who lost their livelihood last Wednesday. The Daiki plant was completely destroyed by the tornado. The employees themselves are living miracles but now face an uncertain future. Although they are eligible for unemployment benefits, they will still need help covering their bills and supporting themselves and their families for the next 6 to 12 months while Daiki rebuilds. NorthSide Bank and Cedar Creek Baptist Church are asking all of Bartow County to join us in showing love and support to the Daiki employees by making a contribution to this fund which is intended to help substitute the Daiki employees' wages until they are able to work again.

"Daiki and NorthSide employees have always had a great working relationship and after enduring Wednesday's crisis together, our bond is stronger than ever," said Barry Adcock, NorthSide Bank CFO and Cedar Creek Baptist Church Member. "The Daiki employees have always been so generous and supportive of this community. Anytime NorthSide Bank hosted a fundraiser to benefit the community, whether for Advocates for Children, building a new playground for Adairsville Elementary, etc. we could always count on the Daiki employees' support. The Daiki Employee Tornado Relief Fund is our way to give back and repay them for the generosity they've always shown our community," he continued.

Several Daiki employees are members of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. "I am thrilled that we are able to partner with NorthSide Bank in an effort to assist Daiki employees in a difficult time. This is truly an opportunity to demonstrate the love of God in the wake of great devastation. It is our prayer that through this assistance that each employee can take care of their needs until the company can rebuild and put their staff back to work once again," said Pastor Gregg Free.

Many great fundraisers are being planned to raise money to sustain the fund long-term.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Daiki Employee Tornado Relief Fund, please stop by NorthSide Bank's temporary Adairsville office in front of the Food Lion shopping center, or the Bank's Cartersville or Calhoun Offices.
