April 21: Second Annual ATCO clean-up set

Media release: Organizers from Keep Bartow Beautiful, the City of Cartersville, and other groups invite volunteers to

help clean up ATCO on Saturday, April 21st.

Each April, Great American Clean-up events are held nationwide as part of Earth Day celebrations.

ATCO was the site of the successful Cartersville Great American Clean-up event in 2011, and

organizers hope to have an even better effort in 2012.

Volunteers are appreciated, and advance registration is not needed. ATCO Baptist Church has agreed

to let representatives of the City of Cartersville register volunteers near the front of the church at the

intersection of Goodyear Avenue and Parmenter Street. Registration will take place at 10:00 AM in the

parking lot.

All needed items will be provided - gloves, trash bags, reflective safety vests, and water bottles courtesy

of Keep Bartow Beautiful. Members of the Cartersville Woman's Club have also agreed to provide

refreshments. Volunteers will walk through the neighborhood cleaning up trash from the sides of the

roads, and the event will be finished around 11:30 AM.

Organizers look forward to a great turnout as volunteers meet in the front parking lot of ATCO Baptist

Church on Saturday, April 21st at 10:00 AM to help spruce up the neighborhood on what should be a

beautiful spring day.
