June 30: Celebrating Freedom Concert to be held at Friendship Plaza

Media release: The Bartow Winds Community Concert Band proudly announces their Celebrating Freedom Concert to be held on Saturday June 30th. This concert begins at an earlier time of 6:00pm to avoid conflicts with other events downtown. The concert will be held in Friendship Plaza in downtown Cartersville at the Depot. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted supporting local charities.

Colors will be presented by Boy Scout Troup 15. Musical selections include many Civil War selections ("The Great Locomotive Chase", "The High Water Mark - Gettysburg" and others), and other music honoring America, her service men and women, and her citizens. The concert concludes with "The Stars and Stripes Forever March".

The Bartow Winds is a non-profit organization founded in the spring of 2009 as both an outlet for local musicians and a way to raise funds for charities. Its members range from high school and college students to adults. Bartow Winds is under the direction of Michael D. Elzey, with assistance and support from area band directors.

Bartow Winds typically presents three to four concerts per year. For information on this concert and future ones, please email bartowwinds@gmail.com or visit their website at www.bartowwinds.org.
