-April 13: 20,000 visitors heading to Kingston Downs Saturday for the 48th running of the Steeplechase. Gates open at 9 a.m.
-April 13-14: The Chieftain's Museum/Major Ridge Home Herb and Plant Sale will take place at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, noon-3 p.m.
