This summer is all about 'Core Classes' at Chattahoochee Tech

Media release: Summer is a time to grow at Chattahoochee Technical College. Recent and ongoing articulation agreements with Georgia's University System schools and private colleges and universities mean that more than 40 college level courses at CTC will transfer toward that 4-year degree.

"There are many benefits to making CTC your higher education home this summer," said Executive Director of Admissions Missy Cusack. "Students will have the ability to earn credits toward degrees, complete general academic requirements, improve their grade point average and explore new areas of interest. Best of all they can do this close to home for a fraction of the cost of other colleges and universities."

From English, Math, Psychology, Sociology, and many others, a student can complete all of the core education requirements for a 4-year degree at one of the eight campuses of Chattahoochee Technical College. The college also offers several career specific courses that transfer to local colleges and universities. All of the courses offer the opportunity for educational advancement, personal enrichment and professional development.

Chattahoochee Technical College offers general education classes, as well as program specific classes in more than 45 different areas of study, at eight campuses serving Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Gilmer, Paulding and Pickens counties. Courses are offered in person, online or in a combination hybrid format.

In addition to beginning students, returning students, and transfer students, Chattahoochee Technical College also accepts transient students. This is an especially popular option in the summer when students might be home for the summer. In addition to an application, application fee and transcripts, transient students must present a letter from their home institution allowing to the student to earn credit at Chattahoochee Technical College.

"The course schedule for this summer is focusing on the general education requirements of both Chattahoochee Technical College and other colleges and universities," said Dean for Arts & Sciences Brenda White. "This focus allows students to concentrate on these requirements in the shorter Summer Semester." 

While registration has already started for the summer semester, the application and document deadline is May 24. Courses, which will begin June 6, will be available on campus, through hybrid scheduling and online for those needing more flexible schedules.
