Oxendine campaign returns checks linked to State Mutual/Yancey: In a statement out today, gubernatorial candidate John Oxendine comments on the campaign contributions brought to light by the AJC on Sunday. "As it appeared to us, these were not checks from an insurance company we regulate. Additionally, it appeared that these checks were from different entities, not controlled by the same person or people." Upon further review, Oxendine writes that the contributions linked to Dee Yancey and State Mutual Insurance are being returned> Statement

State revenue collections plummet 20.6% Net revenue collections for the month of April were $1,399,047,000 compared to $1,761,180,000 for April 2008, a decrease of $362,133,000 or 20.6 percent, Gov. Sonny Perdue's office said. The year-to-date decrease (fiscal year 2009 vs. 2008) was at 9.6 percent> Details
