Weather: A tale of two weekends

-In Rome, the Oostanaula peaked at 23.87 feet, just below flood stage of 25 feet, according to a reading near the Turner McCall Bridge.

'Blood Madness' massive blood drive today at The Forum:

-Blood Assurance is partnering with South 107 and 93.5 Life FM to promote Blood Madness, Rome's inaugural community blood drive, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. today at The Forum. The goal is to collect 400 blood donations, which is the amount of daily donations needed to meet the needs of hospitals in the service region. Blood Assurance is the only provider of blood products to local hospitals, including Redmond Regional Medical Center and Floyd Medical Center. You can listen to South 107 and Life 93.5 FM to track the progress toward the goal of 400 donations. Updates also will be listed on these Web sites: www.south107.com, www.935lifefm.com and Hometown Headlines.

Sponsors sought for Downtown Cartersville's Seventh Annual Summer Concert Series. Packages range from $200 to $5,000. The 2009 concerts drew more than 4,500 visitors each night.
