  • Overnight storm: The tornado watch was canceled at 4:45 a.m. A thunderstorm warning was on target with the storm dumping close to an inch of rain here and packing gusts of 37 mph. Several thousand homes without power today in Northwest Georgia.
  • Weekend outlook: We'll see gradual clearing and a high of 61 today, a far cry from Thursday's 72. The weekend looks great: Sunny skies, highs in the upper 60s, lows in the mid-30s.
