A new Census report tracking housing units between April 1, 2000, and July 1, 2008, shows how the I-75 corridor once again is home to the heaviest growth in Northwest Georgia. The biggest mover by number and percentage: Bartow.

-Bartow County's count grew by 30.3 percent, easily topping the state's 22.7 percent jump. That's 8,734 new housing units or nearly 1,100 a year in Bartow.

-Gordon County also topped the state by slightly more than a percentage point (23.9 vs. 22.7 percent). Gordon grew by almost 4,100 units.

-Polk County was third in percentage growth (13.4 percent) followed by Floyd at 9.5 percent (almost 3,500 units) and Chattooga at 2.0 percent.

Rome Braves to open 2010 season in Kannapolis:  The next season starts April 8 with four games vs. the Intimidators. Also, the schedule shows a 14-member South Atlantic League next year with Bowling Green and Lake County moving to the Midwest League. The league has 16 teams this year> Click schedule
