Tropical depression #13's local rainfall total could top 3 to 5 inches

-1 p.m. update: This latest forecast map from the National Weather Service shows just how much rain this tropical depression approaching the Gulf Coast could dump on Northwest Georgia early next week. It would compensate at least a bit for the long, dry, hot summer that has heightened drought concerns. We have a 40 percent chance of rain starting Sunday night, growing to 70 percent throughout Monday and 50 percent on Tuesday. More good news: temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s.
