$300 million in industrial growth eases recession's sting here
-Tuesday's Neaton Rome announcement put existing industry expansion at $175 million in the past five years.
-Add in the new Lowe's distribution center (new growth) and the numbers -- and jobs -- start to climb.

Year-ending first-time jobless claims, job loss/gains for area due Thursday; also state's December jobless rate.

-Jan. 30: The Rome Braves' 10th Annual Hot Stove Gathering is scheduled for 5:30 until 8 p.m. at The Forum and leading the roster of guests is Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez.  Gonzalez is entering his second season as the Atlanta manager.  Proceeds from the event benefit the Braves Miracle Field of Rome which broke ground last August.
