Advocates for Children is proud to present the 12th annual Duck Derby Festival: Ducks of the Etowah, on May 18.

Media release: Advocates for Children is proud to present the 12th annual Duck Derby Festival: Ducks of the Etowah, on May 18. This pirate themed Duck Derby is bound to bring out the most swashbuckling, peg-legged Advocates fans in all of Bartow County!

Buy your ducks today to see them 'set sail' down the Etowah River to win some amazing prizes! This year's prize list includes a 2013 Honda Fit, courtesy of Honda Carland North, $1,000 shopping spree at West End Commons, two kayaks, an iPad, plus dozens more!

Held at the Riverside Park in Cartersville from 10-5 p.m., dozens of vendors will entertain and delight with delicious foods, unique jewelry, one of a kind works of art, face painting and balloon animals. The entertainment that day is for enjoyment of all ages. Babes Bayou will be making a special performance for those attending the festival that day along with many other exceptional opening acts from around the region, a pirate scavenger hunt, drumline and cornhole.

Ducks can be purchased for the race through the Advocates for Children website, www.AdvoChild.org or through dozens of participating businesses throughout the community starting at $5. All proceeds go to Advocates for Children's programs and services, offering safety, comfort and hope to children and families and preventing child abuse in all its forms.

Want to be a Duck Derby Sales Team this year? Don't miss your chance to sell ducks and make a difference in the lives of thousands of children in our community. The Duck Derby Kick-off will be held March 21, at 5:30 at the City Cellar Loft in downtown Cartersville.
