Blustery conditions continue; wind chill today's concern

-The situation: Our March madness weather continues today with a few specks of snow still possible through midmorning as well as blistering winds that had the wind chill in the mid-20s at 5 this morning.

-Wind chill: With a high of 47 and winds of 10 to 15 mph, it will feel like the 30s out there for much of the day.

-Wind advisory in effect until 7 tonight; gusts to 40 mph. The ag station off Bells Ferry reported gusts of 31.5 mph around 1:30 this morning.
-Wednesday: 20% chance of snow before 10 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 47; low around 30.
-Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 56, low of 30.
-Friday: Sunny, with a high near 63, low of 35.

 

A down burst associated with Tuesday's thunderstorms damaged 10 homes near Calhoun Premium Outlets, including one where a day care center was in operation in the basement. A tree fell on that home but no one was injured

-The storm also knocked down trees in the Armuchee area and left around 200 customers of North Georgia EMC in the dark.

 

Bartow industrial park valued at $85 million; will pay annual taxes of $1.3 million
