Georgia DOT open house on U.S. 411 Connector in Cartersville Thursday 4-7 p.m. the site is the Cartersville Civic Center, 435 W. Main St. The proposed project calls for a new US 411to I-75 connection by constructing a rural freeway on a new location between the existing US 411/US 41 interchange> DOT Release

March 21/Adairsville Baptist to Hold Prayer Walk

(Media Release) In conjunction with the Bartow Baptist Association, the Adairsville Baptist Church will hold a Prayer Walk on Sunday, March 21, following the morning worship service. The effort created by the association follows the missionary tradition of walking the area in which they are going to serve and praying for the needs of that area. Adairsville Baptist Church and members of the community plan to join forces to pray over every household in Adairsville. Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to come to the morning worship service at 11 a.m. dressed in comfortable clothes for walking. Following the service, a covered dish luncheon will be enjoyed in the church fellowship hall prior to embarking on the Prayer Walk. Come spend Sunday, March 21, in prayer with Adairsville Baptist Church located at 107 Summer Street, Adairsville. Directions: I-75 Exit 306. Go west on GA 140, one mile. -March 13/Mayor Matt's March Mountain March: Group hikes have become a popular pastime for City of Cartersville employees in part because of the development of the city's Pine Mountain Trail Recreation Area.  On Saturday, area residents and visitors are invited to join in a hike lead by Mayor Matt Santini.  The hike departs the West Trailhead at 10 a.m. The guided hike is 1.57 miles to the summit at 1,562 feet above sea level, overlooking Allatoona Lake, the Etowah River Valley and the City of Cartersville below. For more information call 770-387-5625.

Media/More changes on local radio coming

-Look for word soon on a format change for a Northwest Georgia radio station. The new format appears to be a first for the market. We've seen changes in personnel and format tweaks in recent months at 93.5 FM Life FM, WRGA 1470 AM, Q102 and The Ridge 95.7 FM, and the loss of WYXZ 1270 AM in Cartersville.
