The spot on Main has since become the Cartersville home of Jefferson's.

What's next: Look for calls for new spending cuts as the recession continues. The General Assembly reconvened Monday and Gov. Sonny Perdue is expected to order more drastic moves as revenue becomes more scarce.

One more take on Handel's 411 Connector collision: As if there were any more wounds left unsalted, it seems Republican gubernatorial hopeful Karen Handel's not-so-kind words regarding the 411 Connector came just about at the same time as a delegation from the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce was in Washington to lobby on the road's behalf (and other topics). Handel's comments caught key local supporters off guard.
