-Legal ads placed in the latest edition of The Calhoun Times establish the names of Greater Community Bank and Greater Community Bank of Calhuon, and list them as "engaged in the business of banking" and "owned and carried by Greater Rome Bank." The notice is from David J. Lance, the president and CEO of Greater Rome Bank who previously led North Georgia National Bank, also based in Calhoun. Greater Rome Bank earlier won state approval to open an office in the former Movie Gallery at 305 W. Belmont Drive. See the ad.

Calhoun parking deck made famous in last snow storm coming down: Gordon County officials are seeking bids to demolish the structure that went viral on YouTube last month (video).
