Bartow History Museum host Old Fashioned Bake Sale on Aug. 3

Media Release- Join the Bartow History Museum on Saturday, August 3, 2013, for the Fourth Annual Old Fashioned Bake Sale.  Enjoy an assortment of baked goods ranging from whole and sliced cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, baked breads, and much more.

The sale will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Bartow History Museum. All items are donated by local bakeries and restaurants such as Grand Oaks, Swheat Market, City Cellar and Loft, Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse, Jefferson's, Barbeque Street, Flavorful Events at Stonewall Manor, and many others, as well as museum staff and volunteers.

Also, Joe Dabney, author of The Food, Folklore, and Art of Lowcountry Cooking and the award winning Smokehouse Ham, Spoon Bread, & Scuppernong Wine, will join us from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to interact with visitors, tell stories, and sign copies of his books.

This event will take place at the Bartow History Museum located at 4 E.
