-AAA South says gas prices down seven cents from last week -- but up 22 cents vs. a year ago.

-The NWS has issued a special weather statement for our area warning of prolong period of strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall between 2-4 inches possible, with the heaviest rain on Wednesday and Thursday.

-Monday: 50% chance of rain, high of 87, low of 67.

-Tuesday: 20% chance of rain, high of 86, low of 68.

-Wednesday: 60% chance of rain, high of 86, low of 70.

-Independence Day: 80% chance of rain, high of 84, low of 70.
