AOL's 'Patch' community websites spread to Cartersville
-The online news wars are just beginning in Northwest Georgia. A concentrated national push by AOL into community-based websites is sweeping the nation, especially metro Atlanta. The company has hired a fleet of former Atlanta Journal-Constitution writers to "anchor" community websites inside and outside the Perimeter. One of the newest is the addition of Cartersville Patch. Brande Poulnot has been hired as local editor. You can read the preview here. Other than an Acworth edition, no other Northwest Georgia sites have been announced.
