Bartow deputies make arrest made in Adairsville bank robbery. Friday night football previews. What's ahead in Bartow County

 

Bartow County Sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect in the robbery of the Renasant Bank branch in Adairsville Thursday afternoon. According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, patrol deputies spotted Darrieus Turner, 28, of Decatur, driving a gold Mercedes on I-75 southbound at about 4:20 p.m. As deputies pursued Turner, he exited the interstate at Ga. 20, turned onto a service road next to the Cracker Barrel, and then drove until the road ended. Turner fled on foot but was captured at about 5:40 p.m. near Tellus Science Museum on U.S. 411.

We've got us a convoy... of VW Jettas?

Motorists on I-75 in Bartow County on Thursday did a double-take after spotting a fleet of VW Jettas cruising north toward Chattanooga. What's up: Volkswagen is holding a VW Dealers Conference at the Georgia International Conference Center, near Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. On Thursday, the conference went mobile: 800-plus newly designed VW Jettas made the trip from Atlanta to the automaker's new Chattanooga plant to take a tour.
