Business Buzz:

-Busy times in downtown Cartersville: Several openings of note in recent days. The first is Write on Main Too, a spinoff of the popular shop on Main Street. "Too" is hopes to be "a toy wonderland and the hottest place in town to shop for the Christmas holiday." It takes over the former Trellis location. Click ... Also new is Love'm & Leave'm, self-described as "a trendy consignment shop" at 110 W. Main St. (think Posh on Broad Street but for men and women). Click Facebook

-Heart & Soles opens off Redmond Circle in Rome: The shop at 1850 Redmond Circle,  Suite 900, sells "high-end fashion" at reduced prices. Facebook

Show time! Seventh Rome International Film Festival begins today

Banners are up in the 700 block of Broad Street, welcoming festival guests to downtown Rome.

Look for extra faces at retail, restaurant locations today and Saturday..

-By Saturday night, more than 70 films from 12 counties will have been seen at the DeSoto and Heritage Hall in downtown Rome as part of the 2010 Rome International Film Festival (click). You'll find a preview to RIFF on our Downtown Headlines page. Films will be shown beginning today at 11 a.m. and run both Friday and Saturday in two-hour increments at 11 a.m., 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 p.m. You also can purchase tickets by clicking here.

-CRBI plans paddle events to celebrate National Wilderness Month: Sept. 11 on Etowah River; Sept. 18 on Oostanaula River in Calhoun; and Sept. 25, a night-time Harvest Moon Paddle on the Coosa River in Downtown Rome. CRBI
