Oct. 2/Advocates for Children's second annual Texas Hold 'Em poker benefit

(Media release) Advocates for Children invites the community to register for their second annual Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament, presented and hosted by Red Top Auto Auction, on Saturday, October 2. Player registration begins at noon and shuffle up and deal is at 1 p.m. Tournament participation starts at $100, which includes playing chips, appetizers, beverages, dinner, a goodie bag, and raffle entry.

Lead prizes for the tournament include a weekend stay for two at Imperial Palace Biloxi including $150 toward spa treatments and $150 toward dinner with the option to travel by small plane or in a rented automobile, a one-night stay at Barnsley Gardens Resort with a round of golf for four, a diamond and gold pendant necklace from Cartersville Jewelry Exchange, golf for four at one of 15 Canongate Golf Clubs, and an "Ultimate Cartersville" package that includes passes and gift certificates to local favorites such as the Booth Western Art Museum and Tellus Science Museum, golf at Cartersville Country Club, and more.

"The work done to benefit children and families by Advocates' many programs is astounding," says Executive Director Patty Eagar. "It's hard work, often thankless, but so critical if these kids are going to have half a chance at living normal fulfilling lives. Enjoying an afternoon of poker, with all the proceeds going to prevent child abuse, and help its victims, is an easy way to help. As I always say, "Doing good feels good." So go "all in" for our kids on October 2!"

The second annual event is presented by Red Top Auto Auction and generously supported by Stone Mill Apartment Homes. Additional sponsors include A New Dimension Graphic Design & Printing, Ace Hardware Cartersville, BodyPlex, Consumer's Automotive, Elite Motors, Granite Cabinet Design, Ligatt Security International, Terry Reid Kia/Hyundai, and Yabdab, Inc.

Players can register online at www.AdvoChild.org or by contacting Advocates for Children, 770-387-1143 or Nancy@AdvoChild.org. Registration will be accepted at the event, however space may be limited or unavailable, so entry is encouraged now to secure your seat. Your support will ensure that Advocates for Children's "full house" of programs can continue to improve the lives of children and families within our community.
